Ouachita chemistry students Clower, McCoy named Arkansas Academy of Science grant recipients

Ouachita Baptist University chemistry students Cori Clower and Aiiryel McCoy, both of Little Rock, have been chosen as two of the four students statewide to receive undergraduate student research grants from the Arkansas Academy of Science (AAS). AAS funds grants of up to $1,000 each spring to assist students with purchasing supplies for their research projects.

From someone who's been there: Consider Ouachita even if you don't know anyone

Being from Midlothian, Texas (a suburb of Dallas), most of my classmates had their sights set on large, nearby state schools. I couldn’t muster the same excitement they had about attending schools with such huge student populations. I wanted to be known by my professors, not just some number or a face in an auditorium full of students.

Ouachita's Tiger Serve Day to be held Saturday, April 10

Ouachita Baptist University’s Elrod Center for Family and Community is gearing up to host Tiger Serve Day, a semi-annual community service blitz by members of the university community. This semester’s event, which will take place Saturday, April 10, is “Hands of Hope.”

Ouachita students earn four finalist, 13 semifinalist honors in virtual state NATS competition

March 18, 2021

Four Ouachita Baptist University music students were recognized with finalist honors at the 2021 National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) auditions for the state of Arkansas. Over 130 Arkansas college students competed to reach the final round of the competition, which was conducted virtually this year, and 14 Ouachita students earned semifinalist and finalist recognitions.

Double duty: How I've juggled tennis and a double major without forfeiting my grades

When I came to Ouachita in the fall of 2017, I was a tennis player majoring in business administration/marketing who had no idea what I wanted to do with my time here. I just knew I needed a major and figured that a business degree could be applied almost anywhere once I graduated. If anyone had asked me what I wanted to do when I graduated, I would have looked at them like a deer in the headlights.

Hall and Ring to perform senior musical theatre recitals Feb. 26

February 17, 2021

Ouachita Baptist University will host Danielle Hall and Elizabeth Ring in their senior musical theatre recitals on Friday, Feb. 26, at 11 a.m. Due to COVID-19 physical distancing guidelines, the recitals will be livestreamed for the public at livestream.com/obu, and there is limited seating for Ouachita students, faculty and staff in McBeth Recital Hall.
